James Kman

Director of Program Capture

As Director of Program Capture, James brings twenty years of experience in the federal information technology industry focused on driving strategic capture initiatives to win the largest federal product and service procurement vehicles. With a mission to grow ATP Gov’s contract portfolio, James uses his comprehensive experience in program management, contracts, business development, proposals, and sales to expand ATP Gov’s presence in the federal IT industry.

James started his career in the federal IT market with Softchoice Corporation, where he was the first dedicated inside sales representative focused specifically on the federal government. Over the next 13 years, James helped Softchoice grow to one of the leading federal Value-Added Resellers, helping to win and manage some of the largest software enterprise agreements with multiple Department of Defense and Civilian agencies. James also led capture and proposal efforts leading to prime contract positions on NASA’s SEWP IV and SEWP V vehicles. James spent the next four years leading business development efforts at UNICOM Government and federal capture, contract, and compliance efforts at SHI International. Prior to joining ATP Gov, James was Capture Manager at CDW•G and was responsible for growing the prime services contract footprint with a focus on GSA, IDIQ, and GWAC-type vehicles.

James lives in Chicago, IL, with his incredible wife, two energetic kids, and a large dog. James enjoys the City’s diverse restaurants and cultural offerings. In his free time, if he’s not chasing the kids or roughhousing with the dog, you can usually find him enjoying his record collection or catching a White Sox game.
